Troy Kantner,
the owner of
 Kantner Entertainment &

 Professional Disc Jockey

I'm a native of Reading, PA and started my career path of Professional Disc Jockeying at the young age of 15. I started out working for a small DJ company with Charlie Eschbach of Blandon, PA. We DJ'ed events all over Berks County, including Penn State Berks Campus parties and Fleetwood Fire Company Teen Dances, and multiple wedding receptions. I then joined the US Navy and spent 10 years of my naval career down in Virginia Beach, VA. While in Virginia, I decided to pursue my passion of Disc Jockeying and joined forces with a local entertainment company called 4 Star Entertainment. This is where my unique style was developed and perfected. I DJ'ed all over the Virginia Beach area for every type of event imaginable, including the major military nightclubs in the Hampton Roads area and a nightclub called Worrel Brothers located at the beach. After finishing my last tour of duty in 1999, I left the Navy and returned home to pursue my second love, Computer Information Technologies.  I started to pursue my college degree in Internet Network Engineering at Berks Technical Institute (BTI). While attending Berks Technical Institute I worked for a local Disc Jockey company called B & B Light & Sound. Over the course of the next few years, I worked in various types of entertainment environments for B & B, even furthering my career to unexpected levels of entertainment. Hence, the DJ we know today.

James Fields - Professional Disc Jockey

Entertainment is my life. I love being on stage and I love the excitement of controlling a crowd. I decided to become a DJ in 1990. I started out, like so many other Disc Jockeys, doing block parties and small events. As a drummer becoming a Disc Jockey was a natural progression. I went on to DJ in clubs in the Philly area but but realized my true potential when I began to mobile disc jockey full time. I became serious about making this a career in 1993. Since then I have worked with other Disc Jockeys learning my craft. Learning not only how to play good music, but also how to be a professional entertainer. I have provided entertainment at weddings, school dances and private events. I have also provided sound engineering for countless other events such as fashion shows and plays.

Rick Mann - Professional Disc Jockey

Entertainment has always been a huge part of my life. To see everyone having fun, laughing and especially dancing means everything to me. I have been in entertainment for over 15yrs. This consists of plays, musicals, Commercials, Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade, and DJing (about 9 years). When it comes to DJing I take pride in giving you 110% in everything I do. I love what I do and I am looking forward to making your special night a memorable one. So lets get your party jumpin.

The thing I like most about being a DJ is seeing the dance floor packed. When everyone is dancing and having a good time I am having a good time. I have been working as an entertainer for almost 2 years now. I’ve been a disc jockey for a little over 5 years. I have always preferred mobile disc jockey entertainment over being a club disc jockey because your closer to the people and I enjoy that interaction.

Doug McCollum - Professional Disc Jockey

The thing I enjoy most about being a DJ is the opportunity to meet new and interesting people every night. Some people enjoy the music aspect of our shows. Some people enjoy the games and skits. We are always trying to think of new and interesting ways to entertain people. I enjoy being the current to energize a party. When the lights start and I call for people to the dance floor there is such an energy, and I think I feed off of that energy. I have been a disc jockey for around 6 years

Our philosophy is different from other DJ companies in that we feel that the most important things about performing for others is to:

  • Do what our client wants us to do. It's all about listening to your needs.

  • Play the music you like.

  • Get the guests involved and interested and keep them that way.

  • Use great looking and sounding equipment, as to enhance the entertainment experience of our shows.

  • Be, look, and sound professional, yet fun and energetic (without too much cockiness or sarcasm).

Our commitment to you is to make each and every show as perfect, flawless and unique so that when your guests leave at the end of the event they will say,
"That was a great party!".
